So long, Charlie!

Although we hated to do it, we put Charlie up for sale last week. We quickly found out that our first dog doesn't get along with other dogs very well. They played really well together until Evan or I came into view, and then Mesa would go all-out-crazy trying to prove she's top dog. Charlie (the heeler) was the best little dog! He was active, friendly, eager to please, learned commands very quickly, housebroken, crate-trained, LOVED to have his belly scratched, was great with the neighborhood kids, and was becoming a very good frisbee dog. We absolutely loved him, but it just wasn't a good fit with Mesa. So why get rid of the good one? Well, we've had Mesa for 2 years, we really do love her, and we thought she was finally outgrowing her puppy phase and becoming good herself. She did a pretty good job fooling us. She was so calm in the evenings when we came home because she had been wrestling with Charlie all day long, but now she's back to many of her old habits because she's alone and bored while we're gone all day. Anyway....Charlie went to a farm in Liberty where he'll have horses to chase and 4 young girls to spoil him. I know it's a better fit for him, but we miss him all the same.

Oh how sad! And I didn't even get to meet him! Hey, when can we get together and do a double date? We are dying for dinner and a movie if you and Evan are up for it!

Oh poor you guys. It sounds like Charlie will be fine. (who in Liberty btw?) But I'm sad that you will miss him so much.

At least your cat can eat a whole watermelon. You'll always have that. :-)
